The Language of Vilomah (poem)

Vilomah means “against a natural order.” As in, the grey-haired should not bury those with black hair. As in our children should not precede us in death. If they do, we are “vilomahed”.

On Tuesday, December 16, 2015, more than 140 people in Peshawar, Pakistan were murdered in school by Taliban members. 132 of those were children.

Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan’s most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities.Unfortunately, many family members had to learn a new language on this day.
